About

Solange Frankort aka Amy Orange is a Netherlands artist based in Rotterdam. Over the past years she worked and  investigated in an array of everyday subjects within digital-pop-culture as reference, such as; computer symbols, digital devices, internet, networks, archives. She uses digital or analogue objects to reflect on relationships between humans and the systems they create. Solange’s work employs a peculiar blend of a little humour and visual aesthetics combined with conceptualism. Adding an unexpected perspective to these subjects, obtaining a perception from them, she creates a social dialogue about media and the digital age.

Alongside with her own practice, Solange research and teaches methodology classes about the UNCREATIVE METHOD she created during her MA at the Piet Zwart Institute. This tool you can apply in various fields or practices to become more aware of the methodologies you use to gain more insight in your own process.

Solange Frankort is also a member of the Rotterdams artist collective Karmijn.

Solange Frankort studied BA Photography and Fine Art at the Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where she graduated in 2014. After her Bachelor she studied MFA Media, Design & Communication at the Piet Zwart Institute Rotterdam, graduated in 2016.
